2001 goodwill games brisbane

Joanna Jordan was appointed as
Manager – Special Events for the 2001 Goodwill Games Brisbane,
the international multi sport event featuring over 1300 elite athletes competing
in 14 sports. Conceived by media magnate Ted Turner in 1986 as a result of
a vision of international goodwill through world class competition, the Goodwill
Games is the most prestigious international, invitational event in the world.

As Manager – Special Events,
Joanna led a team of 13 staff and over 100 contractors to deliver the Games
special events program, her most challenging role to date.

The following events
and projects came within the scope of this senior management role:

Closing Event
Appointed as Artistic Director and Producer of the public party on the last
night of the Games. This role was responsible for the complete conceptual
planning, coordination and delivery of a 25min multi media presentation on

the event incorporated an audio visual presentation on five video screens,
integrated building lighting and searchlights, two 40 watt Yag lasers, and
fireworks fired from a half a kilometre long platform on the river and city
buildings.

installation ever staged in Queensland. Providing a spectacular nightly backdrop

– an Australian first.
